Best-Rated Pillows According to Customer Reviews: 5 Picks Ranked by Real Ratings

The best-rated pillow on Walmart.com among the listings I checked is the Coop Eden in king size, at 4.7 out of 5 from 2,575 written reviews. The Coop Original in queen follows at 4.6 from 11,412 written reviews, and the three cheaper pillows trail the leader by 0.3 to 0.5 stars.

This ranking is built on what buyers rated, not on specs or lab scores. That is the difference from the rest of Brocia, where I rank pillows by construction and published measurements. Ratings answer a different question: after buying, how many people were satisfied enough to say so? Brocia analyzes products from specs and published data, not hands-on testing, and the numbers below are Walmart’s, not mine.

Methodology

Every rating in this article comes from one source, Walmart.com, so the five pillows are compared on the same scale. I used four rules. First, the star rating is the number shown on each product’s own page, rounded to one decimal by Walmart. Second, the review count is the number of written reviews listed in the “Customer ratings & reviews” section of that page. Listing headers show a larger ratings count that includes star-only ratings, and I did not use it. Third, a listing needed at least 500 written reviews to qualify. Fourth, listings that were out of stock on the date checked were excluded.

Every figure was checked on October 25, 2026. Two limits apply. Walmart rounds ratings to one decimal, so a 0.1 gap between neighbors is within rounding and the order of those picks is close to a tie. Walmart also shows some reviews labeled as collected through a promotion, and some labeled as coming from the brand’s own site. I cannot separate those from the counts, so treat every rating as indicative.

The Shortlist

  1. Coop Eden, King, 4.7 stars from 2,575 written reviews.
  2. Coop Original, Queen, 4.6 stars from 11,412 written reviews.
  3. SORMAG Down Alternative, 2-pack Standard, 4.4 stars from 1,854 written reviews.
  4. Mainstays Memory Foam Cluster, 2-pack Standard/Queen, 4.3 stars from 1,326 written reviews.
  5. Virtu Cooling Memory Foam, 2-pack Queen, 4.2 stars from 725 written reviews.

All figures are from each product’s Walmart.com page, checked October 25, 2026. Price per pillow is my division of the listed price by the pack size.

How to read these ratings

Four checks decide how much a rating is worth. Sample size comes first. The Coop Original has 11,412 written reviews, which is 64 percent of the 17,892 written reviews across all five pillows. A 4.6 from that many people is a stable number. The Virtu’s 4.2 from 725 reviews is less settled, because a few hundred reviews can shift it by a tenth.

Next is the shape of the distribution. Walmart’s page for the Coop Original shows 79 percent of its ratings at five stars (10.6K), 11 percent at four stars (1,487), 5 percent at three (661), 3 percent at two (456), and 2 percent at one star (226). Only one of the five pages gave me that breakdown, so I cannot compare distributions across all five.

Price changes what a rating means. People rate against what they paid. A pillow with a 4.3 at $9.96 each and a pillow with a 4.7 at $119 are not delivering the same thing, and it is reasonable that expensive pillows in this group rate slightly higher than cheap ones.

The last check is what the stars measure. They record satisfaction at the time of review, which tends to be soon after purchase. They do not record how a pillow feels after a year. For how foam behaves over a night, guide to the signs a memory foam pillow is finished covers the physical side.

Gel-Infused Adjustable Fill

1. Coop Eden, King

✓ Spec-verified

The Eden is Coop’s softer pillow. Coop’s Eden page describes a medium-soft blend of gel-infused memory foam and microfiber, and a queen measures 17 by 27 inches. Sleep Foundation’s Coop review lists a king at 20 by 36 inches and describes the pillow as adjustable. The rating is the strongest in the group, and the review pool is deep enough to trust. The Eden’s rating of 4.7 sits 0.1 above the Original, which is within rounding, so treat the top two as close. The reasons buyers rate it well are a matter of feel, which I cover in adjustable pillow guide.

Adjustable Shredded Fill

2. Coop Original, Queen

✓ Spec-verified

This is the volume leader. Walmart’s page lists 13.5K ratings behind the 11,412 written reviews, and 2 percent of ratings are one star. Coop’s product page lists the queen at 19 by 29 inches, a blend of cross-cut memory foam and microfiber, and a medium-firm feel. Walmart’s own AI-generated review summary lists adjustable comfort and shape retention among the pros, and calls the price point divisive, with some buyers finding it good value and others finding it expensive. Treat that summary as Walmart’s, not mine.

Pros

  • Most proven pillow on the list by sample size.
  • Costs less than the Eden.

  • Not a soft, down-like feel.
Best for: shoppers who want the safest choice by sample size, with the Eden’s rating a tenth higher but resting on fewer reviews.

Down Alternative Fiber Fill

3. SORMAG Down Alternative, 2-pack Standard

✓ Spec-verified

I found no separate SORMAG maker page, so the Walmart listing is the only product page I used. The listing describes a gusseted, cooling, hotel-collection down alternative pillow in a standard size of 20 by 26 inches. Down alternative is polyester fiber, which tends to feel soft at first and flatten sooner than foam, so a rating given early in ownership may not show long-term results. Budget pillow guide covers what low-price fiber fill does over time. The 4.4 puts this pillow 0.3 stars below the Eden and 0.2 below the Original, at a fraction of the price per pillow.

Pros

  • Soft, hotel-style feel.

Cons

  • Not memory foam, because this is a fiber-filled pillow.
Best for: guest rooms and shoppers who want two decent pillows without spending much.

Memory Foam Cluster Fill

4. Mainstays Memory Foam Cluster, 2-pack Standard/Queen

✓ Spec-verified

Mainstays is Walmart’s house brand, so the Walmart listing is both the retailer and the maker page. It describes memory foam clusters in a standard or queen size, sold as a pair. Cluster fill means small foam pieces loose inside a cover, so it behaves more like shredded fill than a solid block. For what that means for upkeep, see how to fluff a shredded memory foam pillow. At 4.3 it sits one tenth below the SORMAG, which is a tie within rounding. The practical difference is fill type: foam clusters here, polyester fiber there.

Pros

  • Memory foam at the lowest price per pillow here.
  • Respectable rating for the money.

Cons

  • No adjustable fill or premium feel, because this is a basic cluster-fill pillow.
Best for: buyers who want memory foam feel on a tight budget and accept a basic build.

Reversible Cooling Cover

5. Virtu Cooling Memory Foam, 2-pack Queen

✓ Spec-verified

The listing describes a reversible, temperature-regulating memory foam pillow in a 20 by 30 inch queen size. It has the smallest review pool of the five and the lowest rating, and it is priced like a mid-tier pillow. Its position shows something useful: price and rating do not move together across the whole group. The $59 Virtu rates below the $20 Mainstays. A higher price in this list buys a different feature set, not a guarantee of higher satisfaction.

Rating4.2

Pros

  • Cooling claim and reversible design.

Cons

  • Weakest rating here and thinnest review record.
  • Costs three times the Mainstays per pillow.
Best for: shoppers who specifically want a reversible cooling-cover design and are comfortable with a thinner review record.

What the ratings can’t tell you

Ratings sort pillows by satisfaction, not by how they are built or how they age. Three things sit outside these numbers. They say nothing about loft. A 4.7 pillow can be the wrong height for you. If you need to match a pillow to your shoulders, best pillows for side sleepers explains height by position. They say little about durability. Most ratings come from owners in the first weeks. They mix pack sizes and sleepers. A two-pack rating averages every household that bought it, and it does not tell you whether the pillows suit your sleep position.

Closing verdict

If you want the single highest-rated pillow in this group, buy the Coop Eden. If you want the most reliable rating, buy the Coop Original, whose 4.6 rests on 11,412 written reviews. If price decides, the SORMAG and Mainstays rate within 0.1 of each other at roughly $10 to $12 per pillow, so choose by fill: fiber for the SORMAG, foam clusters for the Mainstays. I would not choose the Virtu on ratings or value. The most important takeaway is the spread. The gap between first and last place is 0.5 stars, and the first two places cost 9 to 12 times as much per pillow as the cheapest. Whether that is worth it depends on how much of the rating you attribute to the pillow and how much to the price you paid.

Are the highest-rated pillows the best pillows?

Not automatically. A rating shows satisfaction, which depends on expectations and price. Use it alongside loft, fill, and your sleep position.

Why use written reviews instead of the ratings count?

Walmart’s headers show every star-only rating. Written reviews are the smaller number, and they are the better measure of how many buyers gave feedback beyond a star.

How often do these ratings change?

They move whenever new reviews post. The figures here are from October 25, 2026, and a rating can shift by a tenth within weeks.
