Sign 1 — Permanent depression
Press center flat 5 seconds, release. Depression persists more than 10 seconds.
Sign 2 — Loft loss
Pillow is visibly flatter than stated loft, or has lost more than roughly 0.5 in from original height.
Sign 3 — Yellowing through the cover
Yellow discoloration extends into the core of the foam, not just the surface.
Sign 4 — Persistent odor
Musty, sour, or earthy smell that does not resolve after 48 hours of airing.
